Hello and welcome! My name is David Owen and I am an experienced freelance professional drummer based near Sudbury, Suffolk. Since picking up drumsticks for the first time aged seven, I’ve gone on to study performance drumming and music at two of the UK’s most prestigious contemporary music schools and
now have twenty years of musical experience.
My time is split between teaching the drum kit (see the Drum Tuition page), performing with my original folk music duo False Colours, two wedding bands and my composition and arranging work. As well as the drums, I also play accordion,tenor guitar, and I sing but also enjoy playing keyboard, bass guitar, guitar or anything that makes a noise!

BMus (Hons) Professional Music Performance (First Class) – Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford/Middlesex University
Drumtech Diploma – Tech Music Schools, London/Thames Valley University (Now University of West London)
Grade 8 Drum Kit – Guildhall
Grade 5 Music Theory – ABRSM
